Activities for August

With the new academic year upon us and ever more students in our colleges, it is time to prepare for the new set of students, who are arriving and to adapt our library collections to the new topics, which are now offered to your students.

This is the ideal time to upgrade your library management systems to allow for:

  • AI – students need to learn the language of AI. Students should be able to sear4ch your collections using AI.
  • Processes which convert manuals tasks to automated tasks e.g. the sending of overdue notices
  • Self-service facilities – so that students in a busy college can check items in/out themselves
  • Reading list management which relates reading lists to the many courses you have on offer
  • Fast circulation desks – for faster processing at library desks.
  • Multi-campus rotations of items to maximise usage of collections
  • Easier catalogue importing – with fast links to free Z39.50 external sources such as the Library of Congress and the National Library of Scotland
  • Fast export/import of catalogue records in MARC 21 format for bulk import of records from suppliers and distributors
  • Support for content enhancers e.g. Google, Niielsens BookData
  • Improve the user interface of your library portal, so that students really enjoy using the library portal
  • Add additional options such as digital wallets, online payments, PC bookings and assignment management to make your LMS portal central to student learning and activities.

Automate, Simplify and Engage

If you have a library solution, which is truly simple to use, but complies with International standards, you have the basis for growing your college library into a true centre for learning, since library staff will have more time to reflect and focus on innovation and introducing new services.

Migration Can Be Quicker Than You Think

ANS consultants will help you migrate from your existing library systems and provide the training you need.
